Julie Ray Creative transformed Green Valley Gardeners‘ digital presence through a comprehensive redesign to support their mission of gardening education and environmental stewardship. We converted their outdated HTML site into a dynamic WordPress platform, featuring a visually engaging, full-width responsive design that beautifully showcases their community impact. Beyond the initial scope, Julie Ray Creative also delivered a complete brand refresh with a new logo, modern color palette, and cohesive typography that better reflects the organization’s vibrant community spirit and educational focus. 40 Years of Environmental Stewardship
For over forty years, Green Valley Gardeners has defined itself not as a passive “tea and cookies” garden club, but as an action-oriented collective committed to tangible environmental impact. This hands-on, volunteer-driven approach resonates deeply with Julie Ray Creative’s commitment to supporting organizations that create meaningful community change.
GVG is a steward of four gardens in the region:
Arid Garden – This one-acre demonstration garden established in 1986 showcases native and desert-adapted plants, providing a freely accessible educational resource for residents exploring landscape options.
Allen J. Ogden Community Garden – Founded in 1983, this Sahuarita garden offers members vegetable plots while hosting school gardening programs and educational events for the community.
Desert Meadows Park – Created in 2014, this four-acre certified arboretum along the historic Anza Trail features a 60-plot community garden, picnic areas, and demonstration gardens that attract birders, dog walkers, and nature enthusiasts.
Historic Canoa Ranch Gardens – These demonstration gardens, established in 2012 in collaboration with Pima County, recreate period-appropriate plantings, orchards, and landscaping that showcase the property’s history as a family-owned ranch.
